Thanks for visiting! I live in North Bend, Washington. My favorite painting and drawing mediums are oils, pen and ink, pencils, watercolor and pastels...in that order! I consider myself a portrait/figure painter that is always experimenting with other things like still life, landscape and animals because I love to learn! I began my classical art training in college with hopes of an art degree but I was too impatient and decided to look for quality workshops instead. My two favorite instructors were Tom Sherwood (2 years of a very intense study on the figure) and Ned Mueller (several workshops) who encouraged a strong emphasis on values. I have also been guilty of facilitating my own figure group for a year. Here's a list of Workshops, Schools I've attended and On-line courses: Lewis Clark State College Graphic Arts and Reproductions- Lewiston Vo-tech Bellingham Vo-tech-calligrahy, illustration Tom Sherwood -The Drawing Class Ned Mueller- Portraits and Plein Air Bron Smith-Illustrating for & submitting work to magazines and children's books Lois McFarland- still life Judith McNea- still life Al McNea -perspective, landscape and still life Matt Smith's DVD's Burton Silverman-Breaking The Rules, Drawing the Language of Vision and Painting the Figure Richard Robinsons Color Course Carol Marine's Art Bytes - all of them! Leslie Saeta's 'webnARTs 101 and 102' Daniel Keys Video New Masters Academy: Steve Huston and Glenn Vilppu, Chris Legaspi I worked in an art gallery for a few years selling my paintings there and learning how to frame, so helpful! Here I am, one tube of paint at a time, my own studio and selling paintings! I am very thankful for my family, my art experiences and all the friendships I've made along the way. The relationship I am most thankful for is with Jesus who has been my rock and blessed me over and over! |
